Got contract today, and am now permanent part timer!
Saved a cricket in the tea room from starvation. From the corner of my eye I thought it was a cocky and stamped at it. I missed. It dodged my foot then I saw it was a cricket. Caught it in the plastic box my lunch roll came in. At the end of my shift I went across to the garden beds in front of the State Library and released it.

I enjoy my job. I get to be creative, proactive, charming, talkative, use my knowledge and interest in science and nature, play with cool toys, and work with a lovely team of people. I won't have anyone look down on it as 'just a retail job', since it requires more intelligence than that. I certainly don't feel like my talents are being wasted in this position, unlike my previous retail jobs. I'm very happy [beams]
